Alzheimers Society Manawatu Inc. is a well-established not-for-profit community organisation specialising in services for people throughout the Manawatu region who may be living with dementia. MKC Clubs provide day respite programs in the region to support people affected by dementia to live well. We are looking for a special person to join our dedicated team primarily at MKC in Levin.
To be successful in your application, you will have some leadership experience and have completed the National Certificate in Diversional Therapy Level 4. Experience working with people with dementia is preferred.
You must be able to demonstrate a genuine commitment to make a positive difference to people living with dementia. The person we are looking for is a team player with the ability to work independently. You will be warm, energetic, flexible, and enthusiastic, with effective communication skills.
You will lead a small team responsible for the provision of professional and friendly day respite programs for people living with dementia. These provide an opportunity for them to maximise their potential and also provides support to carer partners. You will contribute to and implement ideas for the ongoing development of the services of Alzheimers Society Manawatu Incorporated (ASMI) in order to meet the needs of our clients.
Excellent verbal and written skills plus experience using technology ie: client management systems and MSOffice are vital as is a clean, full NZ drivers’ licence.
This is a 30 hr week position primarily based within the MKC program in Levin and one day at Palmerston North.
